How to use the washing machine to be more energy efficient

Apr 27, 2022

1. Don't put too little clothes
Generally speaking, each washing machine has a rated capacity (which will be clearly marked in the manual), and the closer the weight of the clothes, the more energy-efficient it is. The efficiency is highest when the actual load of the washing machine is 80% of the rated capacity. Especially dehydration, not the less clothes the better. If washing large clothes, at least close to 70% of the rated capacity, the washing machine can really be fully utilized.

2. Clothes need to be sorted and washed
Wash separately, choose the speed, adjust the temperature. Clothes of different fabrics have different washing times, so they can be washed separately to reduce unnecessary waste.

3. Choose the appropriate washing program
For light and thin clothes, if you use a top load washing machine, you can choose quick wash, and if you use a front load washing machine, you can choose not to heat; when washing chemical fiber fabrics, the water level can be adjusted to a low water level. 60°C for cotton clothing and 80°C for bulky items such as sheets.

4. Use one water for multiple purposes
Flushing the toilet with water from rinsing clothes can save 30 to 40 liters of water at a time.

5. The water level should not be too high
When washing a small amount of laundry, the water level of the washing machine is set too high, which is not clean and wastes water.
